Denn obwohl die gebürtige Norwegerin seit Jahren eine Fixgröße im internationalen Turnierzirkus ist, spielte sie noch nie in Las Vegas, geschweige denn bei einem Event der WSOP. Der Grund dafür ist natürlich ihr junges Alter. Denn bis heuer war die Gute einfach zu jung und durfte aufgrund des in den USA geltenden Mindestalters von 21 Jahren nicht einmal ein Casino betreten. Aber da die Norwegerin jetzt endlich ihren 21. Geburtstag gefeiert hat, steht einer erfolgreichen Reise in die Sin City nichts mehr im Weg.
Man darf gespannt sein, wie sich Annette bei ihrer ersten WSOP schlägt. Dass sie weiß, wie man Turnierpoker spielt, konnte sie ja schon mehrmals beweisen, unter anderem mit ihrem Sieg beim Main Event der WSOPE in London 2007. Dementsprechend hoch sind auch die Erwartungen, die in Obrestad gesetzt werden. Sie selbst sieht die Sache allerdings ganz locker und meint in einem Interview, dass sie sich in Las Vegas überraschen lassen will und noch nicht einmal genau weiß, welche Events sie überhaupt spielen will.
